I’m Polish, so one of my family traditions is to have a big family dinner on Easter Sunday. We’ve been getting our Easter meats from Hapanowicz Bros. Market ever since they opened their doors.

As our family matures the Polish Easter traditions are handed down. My parents used to cook for us, but now my wife and I are in charge of the cooking.

Following decades of great Easter dinners I don’t want to drop the ball.

I live really close to Hapanowicz and was in there yesterday. I wasn’t ready to buy our lamb for Sunday, but I started peeping the scene.

Hapanowicz is great. They have everything I’m going to need for Easter dinner. Polish breads like babka, lamb, kielbasa, pirogues even a baranek (those butter lambs) that complete our table.

My next trip will be this week. I’ll get everything then, and even spend some time talking to the butchers about how to cook this stuff the best.

After all when a tradition is handed down, it’s best to keep it alive and remember where we come from and those we love.
