We love to have a good time in Utica, NY, and we know how to do it right. Major cities throughout the US don’t have the kind of party we have on St. Patrick’s Day.

The parade is one of the biggest in America. Thousands of people come out. Everyone is dressed up in green, drinking green beer and watching floats roll by decked out in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

What’s even more fun is the after party on Varick Street. Everyone in the city is there. You get to see people you haven’t seen in years, and aside from a few bad green apples most people are out to have a good time.

The Parade is always held the Saturday before March 17th unless the 17th falls on a Saturday. All this really means is us Uticans get two days to party. We certainly take advantage of that and make the best out of this city when ever we can. You should too.

Even if you’re not into all the green brew ha ha… There are still plenty of family related activities you can participate in. Restaurants are serving special foods, there are Irish dancers, bag pipe players and tons of other ways to sponge up the Irish culture here in central NY.
